Lenovo, the global technology powerhouse, has announced the appointment of Dr. Tolga Kurtoglu as the new Group Chief Technology Officer. He succeeds Dr. Yong Rui and will further advance the Group’s technology vision and leadership in artificial intelligence.
Lenovo also announced the formation of the new Emerging Technology Group, which will be tasked with anticipating new technology trends and transforming them into future business opportunities. Dr. Yong Rui, who has led Lenovo’s research department as CTO for the past seven years, will become President of the Emerging Technology Group.
Known for his pioneering work in the IT industry, Dr. Kurtoglu has many years of experience in leading positions in the IT industry, including CTO of HP Inc. and Global Head of HP Labs, CEO of Xerox Palo Alto Research Center, and Head of the Product Development Group at Dell. He holds several patents and has published widely in the areas of automation and machine intelligence, computer-aided design, systems engineering, and 3D/digital manufacturing.

Dr. Kurtoglu will lead Lenovo’s research team, spearhead the development of the company’s innovation ecosystem, align the company’s technology vision with overall business goals, and serve as a member of the Lenovo Executive Committee, Lenovo’s leadership team.
