Polycab India bags INR 5,649.36 Cr deal for 2 contracts from BSNL under BharatNet Phase-III

Polycab Telecom, a full-scale technologically agile global Telecom EPC solution-provider, has won two contracts worth- INR 5,649.36 Crores from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for the deployment of a middle-mile network in Karnataka, Goa and Puducherry under Package 4 and Bihar under Package 7 of BharatNet Phase-III. 

The Package 4, valued nearly at INR 4,099 Crores, entails a Design, Build, Operate and Maintain (DBOM) Model to create, upgrade, operate and maintain the middle-mile network in Karnataka, Goa and Puducherry.

The Package 7, valued approximately at INR 1,549 Crores, comprises a Design, Build, Operate and Maintain (DBOM) Model to develop, upgrade, operate and maintain the middle-mile network in Bihar under BharatNet Phase-III.

One of Govt. of India’s ambitious projects, BharatNet is the world’s largest rural broadband project, that aims to build a nationwide Optical Fiber Cable-based network, connecting more than 2,50,000 Gram Panchayats with a minimum speed of 100-Mbps connectivity.

Polycab Telecom has successfully completed BharatNet Phase-II projects in Gujarat – Package B and Bihar- Package B3 and is nearing completion in Tamil Nadu – Package A.
