PURE launches PuREPower Grid

PURE, a pioneer in energy storage products and leader in e-mobility 2W today announced the launch of battery-based 5 MWh grid storage product,  PuREPower Grid, in Delhi. This innovative product is poised to  transform India’s energy infrastructure, empowering grid stability and   accelerating the integration of renewable energy sources.

PURE is set to invest ₹400 Crore in the next 18 – 36 months in energy storage products to expand battery and Power electronics production and in-house firmware capabilities, boosting its capacity to 2.5 GWh from the current 250 MWh. This expansion, funded through equity and debt, builds on the ₹100 Crore+ invested in R&D, plant setup, and battery manufacturing. PURE has also filed over 120 IPs, highlighting its commitment to innovation.

Engineered as a 5MWh containerized product which has in-built solar and PCS, PuREPower Grid has already garnered significant industry validation, with PURE receiving Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from over 10 leading Renewable Energy EPC players & Large Industries.

Demand for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in India is surging with a market projected to reach over $36 billion by the end of this decade, driven by the nation’s commitment to integrating its ambitious 500 GW of renewable energy and a need for over 200 GWh of BESS by 2030. PURE’s advanced technology with over decade’s design and make in India experience has enabled us to deliver cost effective and cutting edge product in the grid-scale segment.

PuREPower Grid is built with high energy density batteries, 5th generation power electronics, and incorporates Cloud & Predictive AI for seamless remote monitoring and 100% uptime, minimizing disruptions and maximizing operational efficiency.

PuREPower Grid features a comprehensive multi-level thermal management/cooling system, encompassing nano-PCM cooling at cell-level, liquid cooling at pack-level, and rack-level. This   ingenious design guarantees efficient heat dissipation, extending the lifespan, better round trip efficiencies and offers world class safety.

Competitive pricing and readily available local servicing with spare parts ensure superior and efficient asset management for energy stakeholders.

Speaking at the launch, Dr.Nishanth Dongari said  “PuREPower Grid is not just a product; it’s a catalyst   for India’s energy transformation. We have harnessed our deep expertise in battery technology and power electronics to create a grid-scale product that is powerful, intelligent, and cost-effective. PuREPower Grid will contribute to grid stability and the seamless integration of renewables. PuREPower Grid will also propel the fast chargers adoption for EV with the integration of ESS products by eliminating the expensive and time consuming activities of transformer upgrade, right of way and distribution upgrade.”

While PURE is already empowering homes and businesses with its PuREPower Home and PuREPower Commercial products, the Delhi launch of PuREPower Grid product of 5 MWh will find the applications across Solar & Wind projects, large commercial and industrial establishments, and indeed across 1000s of upcoming EV Fast Charging stations on high-ways.
