Setting up of SNOC for TANFINET has been a stamp of success for us

A Network Operations Centre (NOC) is a centralized site which is precisely equipped to control the working and monitoring of a network. The centre is so armed with devices that it brings in complete visibility into the detailed status of the network. As the real brain of the network, the NOC is entrusted with network troubleshooting, software distribution and updating, hardware management, router management, Firewall Management, performance monitoring and coordination with affiliated networks.

Polycab Telecom has been engaged as a Master System Integrator under Tamil Nadu FibreNet Corporation Ltd. (TANFINET) to implement the BharatNet Phase-II project in the districts of Package A of the project in Tamil Nadu. We’ve designed, built and installed a Network Operation Centre, which integrates all the Hardware and Software of the various Active/Passive components, fitted across all the 4 packages, i.e. A, B, C & D of the current plan. Apart from executing survey, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, E-2-E integration, operation and maintenance of the optical fibre network for both, aerial & underground modes, we’ve set up our State Network Operation Centre (SNOC) at Chennai, the state capital and done E-2-E integration of electronics across the state, alongside integration with our SNOC & BBNL NOC. Establishment of the SNOC has been a great success for us. With expertise in solution-architecture, our core team has applied the best-approach methodology for preparing the requisite High Level Design (HLD) & Low Level Design (LLD) in the early stage of the project. We designed, supplied, installed, commissioned and set up the necessary basic infrastructure for the NOC and attained the necessary Acceptance Testing Certificate (ATC) for all the equipment required for the establishment of SNOC, as per the approved BOQ.

We’ve laid OFC-based network across nearly 13,920 kms to light up 3095 Gram Panchayats in Tamil Nadu under BharatNet Phase-II, with almost 85% being aerial and the rest underground, as mandated by the TANFINET. Apart from that, our SNOC will play a critical role in maintaining uninterrupted network-availability for all the packages under TANFINET and thus their operational and work-continuity.
